Jesus is the Reason for the Season

In the craziness of Christmas, it is easy for us to forget why we celebrate it in the first place. We are remembering the birth of Jesus. When we left his throne, came to earth as a helpless infant, then grow up to die for our sins. He was born to die. His whole purpose was to die for us. As many awesome things he did while on earth, his main reason for being here was to die for us. So, when we remember Christmas, lets remember him.

“For unto us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. ” Isaiah 9:6

Yesterday our pastor taught on peace. It was exactly what I needed to hear. He talked about us trying to find peace in things around us, rather than in Jesus. I do that so much. I fill my mind and heart up with all kinds of things trying to find peace, when I know the only peace I can have is through Christ.  He is my peace. Latley, I have really been feeling my life is spinning out of control and the caios is unbearable. I am seeking the peace in Christ that I have had before and I know is available to me. I need to absorb myself in his word.  “Lord, help me to know your peace in my life again!”

Just looking at my yahoo homepage and saw airfare to Miami for $110. Gosh, I wish I could just skip out on the St. Louis Christmas and spend it in the sunshine!  Wouldn’t it be fun to be sunbathing on South Beach for Christmas! Or Salsa Dancing!

Twilight obsession!

I am offically obsessed with Twilight! I first read the books over the Summer and was hooked.  Saw the first movie and loved it. I have seen New Moon (the 2nd movie) 3 times already and it has only be out since Nov 20th ! It is the best story. I am a fan of vampire stuff, I always have been. Every since Interview with a Vampire by Anne Rice!  However, in Twilight, it isn’t as much the vampires as the love story. Edward and Bella have a love that is so intense! Makes my heart bubble up just thinking about it.  It’s like the Romeo and Juliet of our day!  I  have actually been tweeting with Elizabeth Reaser, who plays Esme Cullen in the movie. She is so sweet!  Anyway, I love Twilight!

I hate Winter

The grumpiness is already setting in! I hate Winter! How much longer do I have to endure this crap! What I would give to be some place warm.  When I close my eyes I am in the Southern Hempshire where it is Summer time right now! Winter is even worse witht the kids. Bundling them up! Ugg!!! The only thing good about December is Christmas, which I do love, but I would like a tropical Christmas! I could decorate a Palm Tree!
